Macdonald Book Shop hosts and collaborates on a variety of events throughout the year. Check our events page regularly to see what and where these events are happening. We work closely with the Estes Valley Library where appropriate as well as other stores and venues around town including Inkwell and Brew. Our bookstore is happy to pre-order any book for upcoming events, as well as special order/pre-order any book in print or available.

Macdonald Book Shop Celebrates Friends of Fantasy Day
January 31, 2026 is the first Annual Friends of Fantasy Day. We are super excited to say Macdonald Book Shop in Estes Park, Colorado is taking part. As you may know, Staci and Nicole are fans of fantasy and always willing to talk about their favorite reads. Nicole will be available between 10 am and 2 pm to discuss books, host the Fairy Scavenger Hunt, and provide our book reading journal page. Anyone who attends during the event hours will receive 20% of any fantasy book they purchase. Those who complete the reading journal between January 31, 2026 and December 31, 2026 will receive 20% off when they turn in the journal page. Also of note, Libro.fm is offering a sale, which started on January 15, 2026 regarding Fantasy Audiobooks. Don’t forget to support your favorite local indie bookstore when you purchase an audiobook. We are also providing apple cider during the day.
