Rhonda Blackhurst and Karen Whalen Author Signing

Rhonda and Karen are two friends who met through a local writer’s conference. Both will be at Macdonald Book Shop for an author signing on Saturday, September 23, 2021. The event will be outside if the weather permits. Please check with staff about the signing if the weather turns.
Rhonda is a Colorado resident who relocated 25 years ago to our beautiful state. For six years, she has lived part-time in Estes Park, always enjoying our local bookstore. Rhonda worked in the DA’s office until May 2021, when Rhonda retired to write full-time. She is also a freelance copy editor and proofreader and belongs to RNFW and NCW writer’s groups. Rhonda began writing mystery novels and has succeeded in offering over five titles. The Melanie Hogan series includes her newest book, which was released in September—Shear Fear. She also released a short story called Shear Camping Caper on October 8, 2021. Her other series is Whispering Pines, a duology with clean romance and suspense, set in Blue Mist Mountain, and yes, it is inspired by Estes Park. Her theme includes domestic violence and offers some resources.
Karen is an author of two mysteries series for The Wild Rose Press: the Dinner Club and Tow Truck Mysteries. The Dinner Club mysteries feature Jane Marsh, an empty nester who hosts a gourmet dinner club. The Tow Truck Mysteries star Delaney Moran, a super feminine shoe-aholic who drives a tow truck. The first in the Tow Truck series will be available in 2022. Both mystery series are cozy and set in Colorado, with a strong friendship and family themes. The first book in the Dinner Club series won first place in the IDA 2017 Contest, an Oklahoma Romance Writers of America sponsored award. In addition, Whalen was a columnist and contributor to The National Paralegal Report Magazine.
